In 2018, filmmakers Luke Rafferty and Ross Taylor began their documentary. The Hardest Day provides an unprecedented look into the lives of pets and their people, as well as the caregivers within the in-home pet euthanasia community. It lends insight into the remarkable love that wraps around the community, while wrestling with the universal notion of loss.
It also explores many acts of kindness from the veterinarians and support staff of Lap of Love, an in-home euthanasia service. The result is a beautiful, yet somber, glimpse of the interaction between pet owners, the animals they love, and the end-of-life veterinary community.
